THE MASTER IS BACK

Lucas Salton, the extraordinarily talented master glassblower from Liquid Glass Gallery in Eumundi has resumed the centuries old craft of glass blowing following his horrendous motorcycle accident in December.

Lucas had been out of action for three months and was very keen to get back into his routine of turning molten glass into spectacular pieces of glass art. Lucas speaks passionately about the art of glass blowing which has consumed his life for the past 18 years. "It's alchemy. You are holding a molten ball of sizzling glass at 1100 degrees Celsius and mixing raw ingredients and converting that into a thing of beauty that can last forever".

It's evident that Lucas has a strong appreciation for simple, classical forms but he has been combining those subtle clean shapes with other mediums such as stainless steel. A great example of this combo of mediums can be seen in his totems, which grace the interiors of homes, board rooms and foyers across Australia as sculptures or adorn gardens throughout the world as water features.

All of Lucas's art pieces can be viewed at his Liquid Glass Gallery at the rear of the Imperial Hotel in Memorial Ave, Eumundi. Lucas and staff can be contacted on 07 5442 8835 or via info@liquidglassgallery.com or simply click on at www.liquidglassgallery.com
